Virtual Therapy

Since 2020 I have been working online and on the phone with the view to becoming face to face (if clients prefer) following government pandemic guidance. For some, online or telephone therapy suits people due to lifestyle, location or preference. For some in fact, online therapy is more comfortable than face to face. There are some benefits to meeting online and Melanie welcomes a no obligation chat about online working to find out if this could work for you. Either way it’s a great place to start therapy during the current pandemic times we find ourselves in.

Melanie uses Zoom online platform and can prepare and support you to get started.

Melanie has completed training for online therapy work with Dr Janice Filer May 2020.

What to expect

Melanie follows your pace, no pushing or rushing, just gently allowing

I work with a whole spectrum of needs and goals and find that therapy is all about the trust in the therapeutic relationship, once trust is built, the therapy really begins and the desired change can come. I follow your pace and respond to your needs as they arise.

The work could involve talking and creative media, little talking and an emphasis on creative means or the focus could be with talk. It all depends on what works for the individual. I respond moment to moment and always follow your pace and preference. My priority is creating safety and trust. For some people creative media can be a supportive and a gentle way to explore vulnerability and access places of pain. For others it could feel like a clear ‘no way’! This is why I always check-in with what feels right for each person, in each moment. No pushing and I aim to create an environment of allowing and permission to ‘be’.

When face to face therapy resumes, I have a spacious therapy room based in Easton in Bristol, UK.

I offer both long and short term therapy, depending what is needed.
